Scale
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9-inch pie crust in a pie dish and chill while you mix the filling.
- In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, flour, and salt until well combined.
- Add eggs and whisk until smooth. Pour in buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla. Mix until fully blended.
- Pour the mixture into the unbaked pie crust. Place the pie dish on a baking sheet to catch spills.
- Bake for 45 to 55 minutes until the top is golden and the center is just set with a slight jiggle.
- Let the pie cool at room temperature for at least 1 hour, then refrigerate for 1–2 hours for best slicing.
- Serve with whipped cream or fresh berries if desired.
