Description
Easter Egg Oreo Balls: An Incredible Ultimate Treat for 2023
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (15.5 oz) Oreo cookies
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups chocolate melting wafers or chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smooth melting)
- Food coloring (optional, for decoration)
- Sprinkles or edible glitter (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until finely crushed. Alternatively, crush them in a resealable bag with a rolling pin.
- In a large bowl, combine the crushed Oreos and softened cream cheese. Mix until well combined and smooth.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the balls to firm up.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate melting wafers or chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth. Add coconut oil for a smoother consistency if desired.
- Using a fork or a toothpick, dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are fully coated. Lift them out, allowing excess chocolate to drip off.
- If you want to add color, mix food coloring into the remaining melted chocolate for drizzling. Alternatively, sprinkle with edible glitter or sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
- Place the dipped Oreo balls back on the parchment-lined baking sheet and let the chocolate harden. Speed up the process by placing them in the refrigerator.
- Once the chocolate is fully set, your Easter Egg Oreo Balls are ready to be served!
