Description
Spice up your meals with Lebanese Batata Harra, a flavorful potato dish that packs a punch with garlic, spices, and fresh cilantro.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds waxy potatoes (Cut into cubes)
- 1 teaspoon salt (Adjust to taste)
- 4 cloves garlic (Mince finely)
- 4 tablespoons olive oil (Use high-quality)
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes (Adjust for spice level)
- 1 teaspoon cumin (Can swap with coriander)
- 1 bunch fresh cilantro (Chopped, can substitute with parsley)
Instructions
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully add diced waxy potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes until tender but firm; drain well and allow to cool slightly.
- Heat a generous splash of high-quality olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the finely minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant; be mindful not to let it brown.
- Carefully incorporate the cooled potatoes into the skillet. Season them with red chili flakes, cumin, and salt; gently stir to coat every piece evenly with the flavorful oil and spices.
- Continue cooking for about 10 minutes, occasionally stirring, until the potato edges are golden and crispy while the insides remain tender.
- Remove the skillet from heat and gently fold in the chopped fresh cilantro. Serve warm and enjoy the enticing aroma as it fills your kitchen!
