Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs Russet Potatoes
- ½ cup Milk
- ¼ cup Butter
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1 lb Ground Turkey
- 1 Onion (finely diced)
- 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 cup Chicken or Turkey Broth
- 2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
- ½ teaspoon Dried Thyme
- Salt to Taste
- Pepper to Taste
Instructions
- Peel and cut the Russet potatoes into quarters, placing them in a pot of salted water. Bring to a boil and cook for 15-20 minutes until tender enough to mash.
- Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Add milk, butter, salt, and pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy, adjusting the seasoning as desired.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add a splash of olive oil or butter. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic for 3-4 minutes until they turn translucent and fragrant.
- Add the ground turkey to the skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. Sauté for 6-8 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Sprinkle the flour over the turkey mixture and stir well. Gradually pour in the chicken or turkey broth, stirring until the mixture thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper, adjusting the flavors to your liking. Let it simmer for an additional minute or two for the flavors to meld.
- Spoon the ground turkey and gravy over a generous scoop of mashed potatoes.
