Description
These easy to make, no-bake treats feature an oat base and a peanut butter and chocolate filling. Perfect as a snack and they’re ready in 15 minutes and can easily be frozen for when you’re craving something sweet.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3/4 cup peanut butter
- 3/4 cup old fashioned rolled oats
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter (per cup)
- For protein version: 1/2 cup peanut butter + 3 tablespoons protein powder
- 1 1/4 cups chocolate chips
- A pinch of flakey sea salt (Optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the peanut butter and maple syrup first before adding anything else.
- Next, add in the old fashioned rolled oats and mix until everything is well combined and sticky.
- Add the oat mixture to the silicone molds and press it down with a spoon until even, using about 2 tablespoons of the oat mixture for each base.
- Spread a small amount of peanut butter on top of each oatmeal base, or mix protein powder with peanut butter for a protein-enriched version and spread it over each cup. Freeze for 20 minutes.
- Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave with about two teaspoons of oil, microwaving in 30 seconds intervals and stirring well between intervals.
- Once ready, take the cups out of the freezer, add the melted chocolate to the top of each cup, then freeze for another 20 minutes.
- Remove the cups from the liners, sprinkle with flakey sea salt, and enjoy!
Notes
- Silicone liners make it easier to remove the cups later.
- If the peanut butter is too runny, freeze it a bit longer until it solidifies.
